We are very pleased to announce a further school open day for children looking to join The Mill Primary Academy in our Reception Year from September 2019.
We look forward to welcoming families to our open day on Tuesday 11th December at 9.30 am where you will have a tour of the school and have the opportunity to meet our headteacher Mrs Gosden who will happily answer any questions you may have.
This is the beginning of a new chapter for The Mill Primary Academy. There is one driver for all we do here and that is: The Children.
Our GOOD Ofsted report sums it up well: ‘The whole staff team strive together to provide the BEST care and education for ALL the school’s pupils.’
Come and visit and have doors held open; recognise the ‘pleases’ and ‘thank yous’ which are part of our everyday life, and join the excitement of a growing learning community where we all strive to get better everyday. We welcome visits from any and every corner of the world.
Our curriculum is growing, developing and enhancing our rich local tapestry of art, history and community.
Our children continue to inspire, motivate, challenge and encourage us all to continue our learning, long after we have left school.
Our staff work hard to maximise potential, create opportunity, ensure learning and fun coexist and continue to pursue their vocation with enthusiasm and dedication.
Our parents support, learn, grow with us and their children sharing in our success and pride.
Enjoy your visit!
Following our Ofsted report and the support we have offered other schools, we are very pleased and proud to say that we are a designated National Support School. Neil Small (our Executive Head) is an NLE. We have also brokered support for Read Write Inc; outstanding teaching in both Key stage 1 and 2; leadership support for heads and middle leaders; safeguarding culture and practice; staff development and curriculum design.
Neil Small (our Executive Head) is an NLE. NLEs are outstanding headteachers who, together with the staff in their national support school (NSS), use their skills and experience to support schools in challenging circumstances. If you would like a conversation about support we can offer please contact us.
In addition to leading their own schools, NLEs work to increase the leadership capacity of other schools to help raise standards.
NLEs can be deployed in a number of ways and each deployment can be tailored to suit the needs of the school receiving support. NLEs are expected to support schools in the most challenging circumstances such as those in an Ofsted category, facing closure or amalgamation or falling below the floor standards.
You should contact an NLE if you want to improve performance at your school. They will meet with the headteacher and senior staff from your school to discuss the challenges you face and what help is needed. Their work will be tailored in partnership with you.
They can get involved in different ways, including:
