Celebrating a Fantastic Sports Week at The Mill
Over the past few weeks, our school has been buzzing with excitement, energy, and team spirit as we celebrated our much-anticipated Sports Weeks!
From EYFS to Year 6, every child took part in a wide range of sporting events and challenges that brought out the very best in teamwork, perseverance, and a love of physical activity. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, cheers, and moments of determination as children competed with their peers in friendly but spirited events.
A huge highlight of the weeks was the chance to play against the teachers in a variety of sports – always a crowd-pleaser and a great way to build community through fun and laughter!
We were also incredibly lucky to welcome GB gymnast Courtney Tulloch to our school. His inspiring visit not only wowed the children with tales of Olympic-level training and achievement, but also encouraged them to dream big and believe in their potential.
Another exciting addition this year was our Archery Day – a new and popular activity that gave many children their first taste of this skillful and focused sport. It was a joy to see them aiming, concentrating, and celebrating their success with pride.
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils had their Sports Day off-site this year, travelling to ICC where they competed in a range of events and showcased incredible sportsmanship throughout the day.
Finally, a massive well done to our fantastic Sports Leaders from Year 5 and 6. They stepped up brilliantly to help run Sports Days for EYFS through to Year 4 – showing responsibility, encouragement, and leadership in action.
A big thank you to all staff, families, and volunteers who supported our Sports Weeks and helped create such a positive and memorable experience for all involved. We’re already looking forward to next year!
