The Mill & West Sussex Music Welcome Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Workshop for SEND

We were thrilled to host a wonderfully inclusive musical experience at The Mill Primary Academy as part of a special partnership with West Sussex Music and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO)!

On Saturday 28th February, children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), along with their parents and carers, enjoyed a free creative music workshop led by professional musicians from the RPO. The session at The Mill gave participants the chance to explore sound, rhythm and creativity in a welcoming, relaxed environment — with no experience or auditions required.

Open to learners from special schools, mainstream settings and home education, this workshop used inclusive music-making to build confidence, spark curiosity and celebrate creativity.

The event is part of a series of workshops West Sussex Music has been running in collaboration with the RPO, bringing high-quality music experiences directly into our local community.
